Extractions From “The Issue Of Interest”

Hazrat Abdullah bin Masood has narrated that :The prophet (P.B.U.H) has curse those who charge interest and those who pay it (i.e. persons who give and take interest). This has been reported by Muslim, Nisai, Abu Dawood, Tirmizi, Ibn-e-Majah, Ibn-e-Haban and they have verified its authenticity. In another tradition, it has been reported that he also cursed those who witness the documents relating to borrowing/leadings on the basis of interest and those who draft/ prepare these documents.

Hazrat Jabir Ibn-e-Abdullah has reported The prophet (P.B.U.H) to have cursed those who charge interest , those who pay it , those who write documents pertaining thereto, those who keep the accounts of such matters and those sign as witness.He(P.B.U.H) said that they are all equal in this crime

Hazrat Ali has reported that he heard the prophet (P.B.U.H) curse those who charge interest, who pay it, who prepare documentation pertaining to interest based transactions, those who maintain accounts of interest based dealings and those who do not pay what is compulsory (to pay) by way of alms(i.e. Zakat). The prophet (P.B.U.H) also stopped people from wailing and mourning by crying loudly. This has been reported by Nisai.

Hazrat Ali has reported that The Prophet(P.B.U.H) said, “ When Allah intends to destroy a people, interest based business becomes popular among them”.
